About the lead discussant:
Professor Kumar is a professorial fellow in philosophy, history and government – and a part of the Center for South Asia under the aegis of Stanford Global Studies – at Stanford University. His work spans issues in moral and political philosophy, constitutional theory and political justice, empire and liberalism, and the history of democratic thought and rights. He is the author of Radical Equality: Ambedkar, Gandhi, and the Risk of Democracy (Stanford, 2015), which was listed by The Indian Express among the Fifteen Most Important Works on Politics, Morality, and Law to be published anywhere that year.
