The Law School Workshop Series, in association with the Kautilya Society, will be organizing a Paper Discussion Session on April 10, 2021 at 5:00 PM. The session will be moderated by Prof. Raag Yadava (NLSIU).
Paper#1 has been authored by NLSIU students Snehil Kunwar Singh and Aanchal Bhatheja. It addresses the important issue of horizontal stare decisis by coordinate benches of the Supreme Court, with a special emphasis on Jarnail Singh vs Lachhmi Narain Gupta (2018).
A second session will take on May 16, 2021 at 11 AM, moderated by Prof. NS Nigam. Paper#2 has been authored by Vrishank Singhania, also a student at NLSIU. It deals with the important issue of deciphering the ratio decidendi in cases where courts render a plurality opinion. Here are the Zoom meeting details for the session:

This initiative aims to promote a research and writing culture among law students. Participants are encouraged to read the papers and share substantive and constructive comments with the authors in the sessions.
The sessions will take place on zoom and are open to all. The meeting details will be made available on this page on the designated dates.
